Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a mobile call out appointment?

  1. To make a mobile call out appointment, start by going to the Booking page of www.mobileescootermechanic.com.au and selecting “mobile call out booking enquiry” and filling in the prompts.

  2. Once you have filled out the enquiry form, a staff member will contact you to arrange a booking and collect a deposit payment. Once these details have been finalised, your booked in!

Can I make an appointment over the phone?

No. If you call and ask to make a booking, we will ask you to go to the website and fill out your details using either the mobile call out enquiry form, or Heidelberg workshop booking form. If you call us and say you are coming in, we will treat this as a walk-in, not a confirmed booking. We are inundated with calls and work from a noisy workshop so sometimes details can be missed over the phone. We implore you to make an online booking so that we can ensure we have all the correct details.

Why are your prices so expensive? if I find something cheaper somewhere else, will you price-match?

Our prices are well thought out, fair, and standard industry pricing. Some of our prices are actually well below industry standard. Our prices reflect time, expertise, and overhead costs including rent, insurance, and equipment.

Mobile call -out fees are priced at a minimum of $30 plus $1 for every minute travelled away from Heidelberg. This cost is necessary to pay for fuel, car insurance and maintenance, and staff wages. If you find the cost of a mobile call-out is a barrier for you, you are welcome to bring your scooter to our Heidelberg workshop to save on call out fees.

We do not price match as our prices are necessary to cover costs. If you find a part cheaper than we can, you are welcome to purchase and order the part to yourself, and then bring to the team at MESM to install.

Often customers who have bought a cheap scooter are shocked to find out that repairs may often cost more than the scooter is worth. Unfortunately this is often the case with cheaper scooters so it’s worth keeping this in mind when you see a sale that’s “too good to be true”.

Can you give me an exact quote over the phone before I make an appointment?

The short answer is no. The most common and straight forward service we offer is a tyre change. To quote a tyre change, we need to know the make and model of your scooter, the size of your tyres, whether they are street tyres or all-terrain, and whether they are tubed, tubeless, or solid. Each of our tyres are prices differently so we are unable to give you the price of a new tyre before knowing all of this information.
When it comes to repairs, this becomes even more difficult. Sometimes people with give us a description of what they believe the issue is which is simple to identify, other times, what the customer believes may be the issue, is actually quite different from what may be going on, or simply the tip of the iceberg.

Generally, our minimum diagnosis charge is $70. This is to simply have a look the scooter and identify the fault(s) and provide the customer with an estimated quote on repairs needed for full functionality. Customers may choose to go ahead with further repairs or take their scooter as-is by simply paying the diagnosis fee.
